Teach For America is committed to prioritizing the inextricable link between social-emotional learning (SEL) and academics. Recent Highlights
Teach For America’s partnership with the Oprah Winfrey Charitable Foundation focuses on leadership, wellness, and social-emotional learning (SEL) in classrooms and communities nationwide through a series of trainings, resources and content designed to prepare educators and students for 21st century learning and growth.
Social-emotional learning is approached with a racial equity lens, grounded in culturally relevant pedagogy, and integrated throughout classroom instruction and participant programming. We continue to work to ensure that our corps members have the training, coaching, and ongoing professional development necessary to foster SEL learning and equitable learning environments that best serve and support their students. In addition to providing SEL training, TFA has partnered with external providers to offer mental health support and resources at no cost to educators.
